El Misti Hostel Ipanema

Hostel is at a really great location, 1 block away from the beach, a quiet and high pattern neighborhood; subway station is 1 block away; you can also find great restaurants, bakeries, parties around. Streets feel safe even at night/dawn. Everyone feel free enough to have some good random conversation at the lobby. Every once in a while/ or even everyday they offer free shots at night as happy hour. The rooms are not that large, but easy to go in and out; the beds have good curtains, everyday they keep it clean, and if it’s not, you just tell at the reception and they will provide. The shower was having a problem with hot water and they solved it at the same day. Breakfast is paid separately, good options around the neighborhood as well. You get discount at lunch and dinner. Staff are all so nice; some are volunteering; everybody proactive and friendly; a special Thanks to Estevão, Cristal, Pedro and Marcela. You can find a shared kitchen at the rooftop; also filtered water. It has no elevator though; only stairs. Even when there are parties downstairs, the rooms don’t get noisy. It was worth staying here; a good price for the quality of the location. The beach and the view is stunning.

El Misti is the best hostel in Ipanema because it is the perfect combination of clean and party vibes. All of the staff are extremely hospitable and welcoming and speak English Spanish and Portuguese fluently! Andrew made me feel so welcomed as he invited me to come with him friends to a pool party at a castle after I arrived. It's also the perfect location right next to the beach :)

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed and it’s not even close! Immediately getting off the Uber vibes were lively. I was greeted ecstatically by the receptionists Thais who showed me around and introduced me to everyone. Brazilian hospitality was next level. The room was super comfortable, the bartender Zach made great caipirinhas, and the location…you can’t beat this location!

Probably the best hostel in Rio! Literally 30 secs from Ipanema Beach, the rooms are very good and clean, beds super comfortable with privacy and good storage facilities. You also get ti have some social life as there's activities and a bar downstairs. Special mention to Isabelle for the attendance. Thanks El Misti!

Extremely helpful, friendly and fun staff! The location is perfect, right next to Ipanema beach. The facilities and dorms were good, and the cleaning staff friendly. It has a decent bar and a lively atmosphere, making it a superb place to meet and socialize with other travelers. Special mention to Cristal and Andre, who personally took me to an event nearby, even though no one else from the hostel showed up. 10/10
